When Egos Clash

When Egos Clash

Acomplaint I regularly hear is, "We generally battle about easily overlooked details. Everything is a contention." This involves self image. Incidentally, both a couple have concluded that they know best and that they will have it "my way." This gets no one anyplace. Our own particular inner self feels that we are constantly right, that everybody around us ought to do things the way we say. Couples frequently start to squabble about insignificant issues, which then grows into an all out fight. In the event that you really stop them in the center and ask,"What precisely are you quarreling over?" neither can remember. This is not the best approach to live.We have a tendency to invest so much energy contending or holding hard feelings that we neglect to love each other. We neglect to be appreciative for what God has given us. One time when I was in Australia, I was sitting in the auto on our way to an address program and we happened to stop at an activity flag.

All of a sudden, despite the fact that all the auto windows were closed,we could hear an incredible racket originating from the auto beside us.Sitting in the rearward sitting arrangement of a major auto were two delightful youngsters, wearing what looked like fresh out of the box new garments.

The kids were consummately prepared, however they were trembling with dread and tears were moving down their cheeks. In the front seat, Mom and Dad were shouting at each other so noisily that even we could hear the noise. There they were, in a delightful auto, with excellent kids, evidently in immaculate health, and they were shouting. What for? Likely it's some little issue.Perhaps he was frantic that she took too long to prepare, thus they were fifteen minutes late.Perhaps she was distraught that she needed to constrain him to wear a tie, since he would not like to. Maybe he would turn left at the past flag, however she chose that the speedier course was to go straight. It could have been any of a million things, however I am certain this was not the first occasion when they were battling that way. Wouldn't we be able to control our consciences sufficiently long to take a full breath and proceed onward?

Must we truly attest ourselves so commandingly at each open door? Aren't we ready to — for one minute — venture into the other individual's shoes? We have been given a limited measure of essential vitality in our bodies, a limited number of hours every day, and a limited number of days in our lives. Why would it be a good idea for us to waste so much vitality and time occupied with the clash of will? I once ran over this awesome quote: 'There is no such thing as winning a contention with your better half. On the off chance that you have 'won',then what precisely is it you've won? Her outrage, her agony and her judgment?' We tend to work and state ourselves in life for our own will — for that which we need to happen. However, instead of living and working for our own will, let us live and work for "well"— the prosperity of others and the prosperity of the planet. Peace, Ganga Press
